Immersive Labs Helps Optiv Analysts Increase Speed, Quality and Accuracy

CHALLENGE
Optiv threat analysts support hundreds of clients through managed services. To maintain and continue to develop analyst skills and knowledge, Optiv sought a consistent and scalable solution capable of accelerating and enhancing team responses to emerging cyber threats. Optiv needed a robust program that could scale across different teams, roles, and experience levels, applicable to associate, core, senior, and principal analysts, as well as threat hunters.
SOLUTION
With the goal of delivering world-class threat analysis to their customers, Optiv prioritized having a tool that covered recent and emerging cyber threats as well as wider coverage across MITRE technique frameworks for staff and applied this expanded knowledge toward the elevation of client-facing analysis.
The Immersive Labs Cyber Workforce Resilience Platform provided a solution designed for consistency and scalability, equipped with hands-on labs that enabled increased speed, quality, and accuracy of response to new threats.
OUTCOMES
For Optiv, the program was a success. Areas of impact range from an increase in MITRE framework coverage, an average of 40 hours of labs completed by analysts and the ability for them to self-serve content, including labs released in response to the most recent cyber attacks. “Immersive Labs releases these labs so quickly that users are able to train on the topics almost in real time,” says Shogren.
