Nye Prior

Nye brings a distinctive combination of offensive security expertise and teaching experience to their work at Immersive. Before joining in 2021, they spent several years as a red teamer at a leading cybersecurity consultancy, executing scenario-based attacks - data exfiltration, credential theft, and other real-world threat tactics - to stress-test clients’ security operations. Their role went beyond the attack itself: they evaluated how effectively teams detected, investigated, and responded to incidents, then produced detailed technical reports and led debriefing sessions that translated complex attack paths into actionable remediation strategies.

Throughout these engagements, Nye managed the full lifecycle: defining objectives, communicating risk to executive leadership, and tracking emerging threat-actor tactics to keep advisory methodologies sharp and current. That blend of technical depth and business communication - knowing how to break systems and how to explain why it matters - proved invaluable.

Prior to red teaming, Nye spent several years teaching Computer Science, which shaped their approach to security work. They understand how to make complex concepts clear, and how to build sustainable defensive practices across teams. Since joining Immersive, Nye has led the expansion of our offensive security content, and now serves as Senior Manager for a core part of the Container 7 team, where that educator’s mindset continues to drive their leadership.
